Finance Operations, Manager - Hybrid

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Finance Operations, Manager to join the Strategy and Analysis Team in Costa Mesa, CA! Individual reports to SVP, Strategy Finance and Analysis. Role is hybrid. 

This role is a hybrid opportunity that requires a local commutable distance to the HQ Costa Mesa, CA office as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for managing inter-company and intracompany deliverables, coordinating finance and accounting meetings, and leading various financial projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses strong project management skills along with financial acumen in a fast-paced environment. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance department. This is a high-impact position that requires a combination of operational excellence and exceptional communication skills, to promote collaboration and efficiency throughout the finance team.

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

Finance Workflow Management:

• Manage and streamline day-to-day operations within the finance department, ensuring efficient processes and adherence to financial policies and regulations
• Manage the coordination between finance, accounting, and strategy teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Coordinate and facilitate monthly finance and accounting meetings, capturing key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking progress against goals.
• Establish and track project metrics, perform benchmarking, and implement improvements to enhance project efficiency.
• Serve as a point of contact for inter-company and intracompany inquiries, clarifying requirements and resolving any issues.
• Engage stakeholders in brainstorming sessions, gather project requirements, and develop comprehensive solutions.
• Support the creation of best practices and resource guides, ensuring quality of team execution through metrics tracking and third-party enterprise tools.
• Maintain enterprise reference resources pages on intranet.
• Drive standardization of delivery and activities to provide efficient service, as well as knowledge sharing and supporting related teams/projects.
• Document project progress, prepare detailed presentations, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Provide business summaries and narratives to support department head.

Program and Project Management:

• Manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Support our Marketing, Channel Development, and Product executives to prioritize multiple, high volume, and competing work streams to execute against project plans and tight timelines.
• Build strong working relationships with project teams, internal and external partners, and effectively collaborate to achieve project objectives.
• Integrate and synthesize information from multiple teams, including Marketing, Product, Legal, in order to analyze complex issues, mitigate risks, assign work to the appropriate parties, and solve problems.
• Demonstrate sharp attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products to ensure the highest quality deliverables in the allotted time frame.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in project management, preferably in finance or strategy-related projects.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial concepts and present findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software like Jira, and Confluence and productivity tools including Microsoft Office (Excel ad Powerpoint)
• Familiarity with financial systems and reporting processes.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and address issues and risks.
• Experience in process improvement and change management is a plus.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 - $140,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
