Job Summary
The Corporate Affairs and Communications division of The Aerospace Corporation provides impactful communications to our employees and the customers we serve; we tell the Aerospace story. Our division is looking for a proven self-starter who has a passion for collaborating with our leaders and corporate executives as a Finance Partner. This position will play a key role in transparently working the funding, Return on Investments (ROI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for our strategic campaign leads and our award winning in-house creative production teams. The Finance Partner provides leadership in all areas of financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities for Corporate Affairs and Communications Division for The Aerospace Corporation. Specific responsibilities include annual and multi-year budgeting, development of financial forecasts and planning scenarios, development and implementation of financial and operational metrics, dashboards, and capital expenditure planning. Responsible for improvements in financial and business processes as set by Financial Leadership. Will serve as a proactive and trusted financial advisor to all levels of the division, providing the financial data, trend analysis, and predictive analytics that the corporation needs to deliver its value proposition to customers and to meet its goals. Will work closely with the Group CFO to ensure a consistent vision and implementation of financial policies, practices, and processes throughout the Company. Will partner to ensure the strategic use of special funds used to introduce the corporate value proposition to priority audiences.

What You'll Be Doing
- Key financial business advisor to executive leadership and division managers; contributor in the development of strategic plans and business-related processes and implementation of near-term and long-range strategies in alignment with the corporate strategic plan
- Develops financial forecasts and manages budgets of organization
- Provides key inputs into the corporate budgeting process and communicates budget decisions back to the organization
- Supports strategic projects at the group level
- Informs Group CFO and leadership on financial trends and reporting unit performance; recommends corrective actions to achieve financial plans
- Identifies, defines, and deploys metrics for management to make informed business decisions and implement effective operational strategies
- Updates financial forecasts on a monthly basis and provides standardized reporting and analysis of budget variances and other key financial metrics to the Group CFO and corporate Finance Planning & Analysis team
- Utilize business intelligence tools to build localized financial analytics dashboards and provide leadership team with ad hoc analysis
- Educates division management on financial concepts, approaches and relationships, cost structures, and business models
- Generates and recommends value-informed purchasing and investing on behalf of the team; assisting leaders with business case preparation to ensure value-driven investment decisions
- Provides input in the development of financial and business policies and procedures
- Supports business transformation within the organization, including streamlining current processes to gain efficiencies
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Six or more years of experience in financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- MBA, CPA and/or advanced degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
- Two or more years of experience in a US government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) contracting environment
- Knowledge of governmental and government contractor budgeting systems and practices
- Knowledge of cost accounting standards (CAS)
- Expertise in strategic planning and deployment of finance services for a geographically dispersed organization
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx
- Prior experience as a Financial Manager, or equivalent is desired
- Prior experience within research or FFRDC environment and campaigns is desirable
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with peers, direct reports, customers, and leadership
