We currently have an immediate need for a Financial Accountant for Gurgaon, India.

About the Role: This position will be responsible for all finance, accounting and tax related tasks for African entities and other obligations of the African legal entities. The Financial Accountant will proactively address issues and raise them to the Finance Manager, if necessary, including system improvement steps that might be needed.

Responsibilities:

• Complete accruals, reconciliations and monthly processing including allocations
• Prepare monthly expense reports for Department Heads
• Reconcile required balance sheet accounts and enter into SharePoint/Blackline
• Review inter-company accounts to include the acceptance and creation of AGIS and clearing of inter-company balances.
• Prepare monthly reports for all entities as required.
• Provide the US with required schedules, in the requisite format supporting the monthly reported results
• Manage the company's cash position and review monthly cash forecasts for the various entities
• Monitor and update cash flow requirements as needed
• Review daily bank statements for the company and update balances for U.S.
• Coordinate the submission and processing of invoices and payments with Accounts Payable team.
• Processing of receipts
• Review payroll calculations prior to payment in accordance with current agreements and legislation.
• Ensure payment has been completed for deductions and company contributions to the appropriate fund manager
• Coordinate Statutory Returns
• Ensure capital expenditure records and monthly schedules are updated and depreciation calculation is correct.
• Assist with timely filing of tax returns
• Use AVIAT nominated tax consultants to support calculation and payment of required taxes.
• Ensure the VAT, WHT calculation, charging and reporting is correct
• Maintain GL accounts to ensure detailed information is captured accurately.
• Prepare journal or data entries
• Extract statistical data and reports from records for analysis
• For Statutory reporting requirements, ensure completion, filing and payment according to set deadlines (in conjunction with external consultants where applicable) for all entities of all annual accounts and other statutory reports such as, annual returns and financial statements, payroll tax etc.
• Record and issue all credit cards and oversee and reconcile petty cash and foreign cash.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Suitable accounting degree at recognized institution
• 4+ years minimum experience in industrial/service environment or similar industry.
• Knowledge of current accounting practice in Africa region & India
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience working with Oracle Discoverer reporting tool
• Experience working with Oracle financial modules
• Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft modules
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to relate to staff at all levels of the organization as well as external customers and suppliers.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent customer issues management skills
