About this opportunity

Hivestack is looking for a financial accountant to join its finance team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a candidate that is eager to learn, is able work both with a team and independently, is looking to grow within the company, and has a strong attention to detail. In this position, the candidate will play a vital role in the finance team by contributing to month-end closing of various international entities as well as financial analysis, among other tasks, in both a growing and fast-paced environment

How you’ll make an impact

• Assist with the month-end closing process, including but not limited to recording accrual, prepaid and amortization entries, maintaining and reconciling fixed asset and prepaid schedules and preparing internal financial statements
• Assist with monthly variance analysis
• Assist with the year-end audit, as needed
• Assist with monthly VAT/GST  requirements for multiple foreign jurisdiction
• Other duties as assigned by the controller and the assistant controller

What do you need to perform in this job 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
• Planning to or pursuing a CPA designation is an asset
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Experience with Netsuite is an asset 
• Ability to work both in a team and independently with limited oversight
• Ability to communicate effectively and think critically including analytical skills
• Detail oriented, eager to learn and time management skills
• Experience with financial statements and recording journal entries
• Fluent in English (Spoken and Written)
