Job Description

SCHEDULE: Full-time Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm; some Saturdays and some holidays will be required. Average of 40 hours a week.

LOCATION: 131 E Main St, Hills, Iowa 52235

SCOPE:

The Financial Accounting Associate will work directly with the Controller of the Bank in preparing financial reports for the Board of Directors and other areas of the Bank as needed. This position will also assist with the preparation of external regulatory reports, budget process, monitoring expenses and other financial accounting functions of the Bank.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Financial Reporting: (35%)

  • Assist with the preparation of Board of Directors monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with maintaining the Bank's financial models.
  • Prepare quarterly external regulatory reports
  • Prepare quarterly documents to assist in financial regulatory reporting.
  • Provide financial reports to all areas of the Bank as required.

Financial Accounting: (35%)

  • Preparation of monthly profit center accounting reports for officers and departments.
  • Assist with the review and reconciliation of various general ledger accounts, prepare adjusting entries as needed and supply supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the accounts payable and purchasing functions of the Bank.
  • Maintain the building and equipment asset records of the Bank for financial accounting and income tax purposes.

Financial Budgeting: (10%)

  • Assist with the input of budget items by branch and department.
  • Assist with the review of submitted budgets for accuracy.
  • Help with the preparation of budget reports for the Board of Directors.

Other Duties: (20%)

  • Assist the Controller with other projects as required.
  • Assist with maintaining the IntraFi website, provide assistance for all CDARS and ICS requests and create/update customer accounts as needed.
  • Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops.
  • Involvement in bank and community events.
  • Will perform backup duties as assigned to help cover within the department during vacations, leaves, etc.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in finance or accounting; and five years bank accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work schedule must be flexible during the first week of each month in order to complete month end reporting in a timely fashion. Flexibility also required during the months of November thru February for budget and year end preparation. Some Saturdays and some holidays will be required.
