Pay Range: $72,000 - $96,000 (base pay)

The Financial Advisor must be able to use knowledge of markets, industries, and clients to determine demand and future trends. The Financial Advisor must be able to collect and analyze information regarding the customer's income, assets, investments or debts to determine which financial products best meet the customer's needs and financial circumstances, advising the customer regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different financial products. The Financial Advisor must be able to establish and maintain high standards of customer service and be able to communicate investment concepts effectively in a professional manner. The Financial Advisor must identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing book of business and new to wealth prospects, both internally and externally. The Financial Advisor must be able to gather market intelligence, self-generate leads, and develop proposals/campaigns to garner new business, ensuring a consistent flow of new revenue.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continually being on top of market, industry and financial trends to appropriately advise and guide clients
  • Actively review client portfolios and get to know clients and their risk tolerance to be able to advise clients as to appropriate financial products for their consideration in a responsible manner.
  • Achieve and exceed sales and revenue goals as defined on a monthly basis.
  • Manage account opening process for new and existing clients. Includes collection of account-specific information, recording information via electronic account-opening system, retrieving relevant executed documentation from clients.
  • Perform account maintenance including money transfer requests, address changes, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable bank, broker/dealer, State and Federal regulations associated with the sale of investment and insurance products.
  • When appropriate, provide leads to branch personnel for the sale of other bank products and services such as deposit accounts and loans.
  • Attend and actively participate in sales meetings, training initiatives, and planning sessions related to the development and growth of the program.
  • Maintain records, master operational procedures, and provide sales and activity reports per management's request in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Create strong internal and external relationships in an effort to develop referral sources and meet appointment objectives.
  • Maintain required professional training and license requirements, including knowledge of all regulatory rules and internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide active mentoring and coaching to all bank partners, including Licensed Bank Employees (LBEs), assigned within your branch territory. This includes hosting and leading:
    • Sales meetings
    • Branch training sessions
    • Huddles and seminars for bank staff in an effort to secure long-term client relationships and provide sales leadership to internal business partners regarding investment and insurance products.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales team, broker-dealer, branch management, compliance and various other business units throughout the firm.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2 years of work experience providing investment guidance and advice to clients
  • Must be able to understand and advise clients regarding financial products
  • Must demonstrate a superior record of sales achievement while maintaining high ethical standards
  • Licenses/Certifications: FINRA licenses 7 ,63 and 65 or 66, as well as NYS Life, Accident & Health license required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Very strong interpersonal communication skills, complemented by both excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Superior knowledge of financial analysis and risk evaluation.
  • Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying staff strengths to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills via phone channel as well as in person.
  • Ability of using logic and reasoning to identify the pros and cons of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problem resolution.
  • Attention to detail, being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Strong social orientation, preferring to work with others rather than alone, and being personally connected with others on the job.
  • Excellent time management required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
