Job Description

This role is a part of our Financial Controls and Regulatory Compliance Team within the Services Department of the Regulated Markets Division. This role supports Cigna's Medicare Part D insurance companies with financial and regulatory oversight. Responsibilities include financial planning & analysis deliverables, vendor management, client billing, corporate governance, and compliance with state insurance regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly p/l close activities including expense and revenue accruals, general ledger reconciliation, and variance analysis.
  • Quarterly forecast and annual budget development support, including consolidation of expense owner submissions, forecast comparison analysis, and management reporting.
  • Manage intercompany billing and client billing in accordance with contracts.
  • Manage vendor invoice payments and purchase order tracking and analyze performance vs forecasts.
  • Provide support for the quarterly underwriting expense allocation model, the quarterly corporate overhead expense allocations for the insurance companies, and the annual labor allocation model in compliance with management service agreements.
  • Implement operational efficiencies and innovative reporting solutions for insurance company lines of business.
  • Partner with Regulatory to provide compliance oversight for the insurance companies including Board of Director meeting facilitation and state department of insurance reporting and filing requirements.
  • Track compliance with state insurance regulations with cross functional partners, develop product guidelines by state to inform underwriting and sales, and create client-facing state regulation reporting.
  • Assist with regulatory audits - CMS and State Department of Insurance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other analytical area
  • 3-7+ years of relevant financial analysis and/or regulatory compliance experience with health insurance, Medicare Part D, state insurance regulations experience preferred
  • Financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting experience for a large corporation a plus
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Power Point with SQL/VBA code and dashboard experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - ability to draw insights from data, effectively communicate results and push for actionable solutions.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally and to think strategically to successfully drive results.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills/strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple deliverables in a dynamic environment.
  • Motivated, reliable, and responsible with pride in work, proven work ethic, & attention to detail.
  • This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 89,300 - 148,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
