Financial Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The position will assist in the coordination and preparation of segment budgeting/forecasting/reporting, working capital and commercial analysis, capital expenditures, and other analytical reviews. In addition, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for assessing general business and market trends, developing root causes of business issues, and identifying opportunities for reduced costs and improved productivity and efficiency. The Analyst will work for the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis for the CAPS segment. This position requires a candidate with strong initiative that can adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business. This will require an individual who is system savvy with exceptionally strong analytical and communication skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements including monthly actual, forecasting, and annual plan. Prepare the analysis of operating results and variances (i.e., actual vs. forecast, vs. plan) and other operating metrics such as backlog, headcount, capital expenditures, working capital, cash flow, NVA, etc.
• Assist with all planning and forecast update processes at the business unit and segment level, by providing guidance, and quality assurance regarding system data.
• Partner with business leaders to understand strategies and prepare business models. Utilize and develop various business reports and metrics to evaluate, interpret, and provide critical information in support of strategic and operating decisions. Work closely with business unit Finance/Operations teams to better understand financial results, trends and validate forecast assumptions.
• Develop and maintain monthly financial reports for management; ad hoc and profitability analyses; interact, present, and work with various departments and business unit leaders in preparation of analyses.
• Actively automate and streamline processes.
• Analyze balance sheet accounts including NVA, aging's, reconciliations, and trends.
• Assist in acquisition due diligence and integration.
• Support and analyze the segment support functional groups including Sales, IT, HR, Finance, Compliance, Business Development and Executive including expense trends, forecast analysis and coordination of capital expenditures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with minimum 1-3 years related experience
