Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Finance organization at Trupanion is excited to be adding a Financial Analyst to the team! As a Financial Analyst, you will gather, analyze, present, and monitor financial data – critical to the business achieving its financial and operational goals.
The right person for this role is exceptionally analytical, curious, and creative; and is passionate about helping pets.
This position is only open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule that requires you to work from our casual, pet-friendly office 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain planning, forecasting, and financial models for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Perform variance analyses and monthly budget versus actual reporting over key metrics and financial results. Communicate results to department budget owners.
- Develop detailed and flexible financial models to facilitate decisions of product and P&L owners.
- Assist in preparation of materials to support the quarterly earnings process.
- Support the Accounting and Finance teams on special projects and ad-hoc analyses, as needed.
Qualifications
Education, Registration & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 1-2+ years of experience in finance/accounting
Experience:
- Public company experience a plus
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, including the ability to compile and analyze data and identify trends
- Highly motivated, with the tendency to be flexible and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Strives for innovation, collaboration, and trustworthiness with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP as it relates to expense classification
Compensation:
- The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 on a full-time schedule.
- Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
- We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
