Description
SUMMARY
As an essential member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Financial Analyst provides timely, accurate, and insightful financial analyses to support various areas of Leap's growing business. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, high energy and motivation, and impeccable attention to detail. The role will be remote, and the salary range for this position depends on experience and location.
This person must have 2 - 4 years of prior Financial Analyst or Accounting experience. This position reports to the CFO. The performance profile of a successful Financial Analyst includes the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in monthly/quarterly reporting and analyses for all three financial statements, including all internal and external financial reporting obligations
- Perform periodic and ad-hoc financial and operational analyses and provides timely, accurate, and insightful summaries to the senior management team
- Create monthly budget vs. actual reports/ P&Ls and provide variance analysis for management review
- Develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and 3-year strategic plans
- Determine financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results
- Dive deep into analytics related to revenue breakdown and margins
- Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
- Research and analyze industries, companies, historical financial statements, and projecting financial information
- Work with functional leaders to analyze our business and help them achieve their objectives
- Assist in the management and execution of due diligence processes
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of Finance or Accounting related experience (FP&A experience preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills with deep experience in financial modeling/forecasting within the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow and understanding how the inputs of modeling the three financial statements are connected
- Proactive team player; must be accountable, responsible, and organized.
- Strong technical skills and experience with an aptitude for learning new software and systems
- Experience diving into data and metrics and explaining key business drivers
- Self-directed and always looking for ways to improve the business processes
- Strong experience with cross-functional partnering and ability to build strong influence among business partners
- Problem solver with the aptitude to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
