ABOUT THIS ROLE
Financial Analysts on the Apex Finance Billing team are responsible for handling client billing, month-end close duties, and analysis of financial details. This role interacts with several Apex teams, including Accounting, Treasury, Client Service, Operations, Compliance, and Technology.
The Billing team plays a critical role in the client experience at Apex Fintech Solutions. Ensuring clients are accurately charged per their contract is key to a positive and lasting impression of our firm. It is also an essential part of properly tracking revenues for the firm as we continue to grow. The Financial Analyst must be a critical thinker, analytical, energetic, and possess a strong attention to detail. This individual is expected to function in a fast-paced environment, communicate well, and meet deadlines associated with the month-end process.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Complete billing set-up of new correspondents (clients) based on specified terms detailed in signed contracts
• Prepare month-end billing statements for correspondents (clients)
• Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts and proactively communicate daily status and escalate issues as needed
• Assist with quarterly and annual audit requests as needed
• Liaise with Operations (and all other applicable departments) to consistently maintain all miscellaneous fee templates
• Review new and existing client set-ups against contract language to ensure proper billing set up
• Follow up with Client Partners / Relationship Managers to resolve outstanding issues with billing and timely payments
• Handle other accounting duties as assigned. Examples: revenue analysis, inventory, fixed asset management, intercompany expenses.
• Actively cross-train to provide back-up coverage for all team members
• Proactively determine and implement improvements to workflows and controls, minimize risk and manual workflows and reduce inefficiencies
• Actively participate in firmwide and departmental projects and initiatives, including implementation of new billing system

The skills you'll need to succeed:
Required

• Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in accounting or finance
• Minimum of 2 - 4 years accounting experience, preferably in a similar role for a clearing or investment firm, proprietary trading firm, bank, or trust company
• Excellent attention to detail, an exceptionally high degree of initiative and adaptability, and the ability to multi-task
• The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• The ability to work with numerous and conflicting deadlines
• The ability to perform tasks with speed and accuracy
• Strong analytical skills to solve problems
• The ability to exercise independent judgment
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and the ability to communicate constructively within the department and the firm
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Preferred

• Experience using NetSuite accounting system
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel abilities

SALARY RANGE
$63,840-$79,800
