JOB DESCRIPTION

The Financial Analyst is professional and responsible work assisting in various areas of plant accounting/finance, including but not limited to general ledger accounting, operations reporting and forecasting, fixed asset accounting, internal controls, and month-end financial closing and reporting. The Financial Analyst should be able to work independently with key deliverables that are clearly established. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and eager to develop new skills and progress within the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analyst Completes daily posting of journal entries
  • Completes general accounting activities, including month end closing, journal entries and reporting. Ensures timely month end closings and timely reporting into all reporting systems (Hyperion, SAP, CI, ITS, VA/VE, BBP, Quality etc.)
  • Reconciles A/R and A/P with corporate personnel
  • Coordinates intercompany transactions/charges with other plants in the network
  • Maintains all fixed asset files, tracks CAR spending, tags all assets, completes required corporate reports.
  • Maintains the accuracy of balance sheet accounts as assigned by the Plant Controller ensures that account reconciliation's are completed monthly/quarterly as scheduled.
  • Ensures proper account distribution for item expenses, inventories, fixed assets, etc.
  • Maintains the permanent records of the accounting department.
  • Supports compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (Section 404) and BOS (Business Operating System)
  • Assists with preparation and review of annual plan and quarterly forecasts
  • Helps advise and supervise Finance Associate to ensure his/her success and operational efficiency
  • Provides accurate and timely data for the Best Business Practices (BBP) operational reporting system
  • Participates as a team member on continuous improvement projects
  • Assists as directed by the Plant Controller on year-end and/or internal audits requests/requirements
  • Assists in developing financial policies and procedures and ensures compliance by the plant.
  • Performs other duties, including ad hoc analysis and special projects, at the direction of the Cost Accountant and/or the Plant Controller

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting/finance or Associates degree with equivalent extra experience
  • Two (2) or more years of accounting/financial experience with emphasis in general accounting.
  • Experience inside Manufacturing or Equivalent is a plus
  • Working knowledge of SAP, QAD, MFGPro, HFM, or equivalent ERP
  • Experience with MS excel
