Financial Analyst

Job Description

Provide financial and business reporting analysis support within the Global Finance team to inform decision-making by Management, Sales, Product Management and other departments. Primary responsibilities include analysis of operational expenses, analysis and reporting of market share data, developing business partnerships with internal customers to drive achievement of financial goals, assisting in the annual planning/budgeting process, monthly and quarterly forecasting and month-end close activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly analysis of financial results. Examples to include financial statement variances against budget, including trend analysis and account analysis. Provide explanations and recommendations for gap closure or corrective action.
• Assist in analyzing the financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against strategic/business plans and budgets.
• Maintain database of market data and provide reporting and analysis on industry benchmarks and competitive trends.
• Partner with internal customers to perform analyses of product and operations costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings, profit improvement and tracking performance against targets.
• Co-develop and own tactical action plans with internal customers to achieve financial and operational goals. Regularly monitor progress and drive accountability towards goals.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget. Including preparation of supporting schedules, uploading and validation of data into budgeting database, assisting in preparing the financial budgeting model, creating reports and analysis and coordinating with key personnel from various departments.
• P&L modeling and scenario analysis.
• Ad hoc projects as required in support of business and strategic initiatives.
• Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001 and 14001; understand and fully support IS0 system.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• One to three years of experience in a Financial/Data Analyst role or similar position.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
• Advanced Excel skills: ability to create functions, lookups and pivot tables is a must.
• Highly organized with an eye for detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines; possess positive work attitude including willingness to work longer hours during peak periods.
• Strong verbal & written communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.
• Experience with Hyperion Essbase or Smartview, Oracle, Business Objects and MS Access, a plus.

Range for this position:

$70,000 - $80,000

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered.
