Job Description
As a key member of our finance team, you'll Better Days by driving our financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes across all business units. Leveraging advanced tools and your keen analytical skills, you'll dive into current and historical data to provide strategic decision support for our retail stores, e-commerce platform, and grocery/office divisions.
You must be based in one of the following Philz markets - California (SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, or San Diego).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Lead the forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis for all Philz business units, to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
- Analyze and interpret large data sets into actionable insights and develop presentations for key stakeholders, to highlight critical information.
- Compile and analyze key operational metrics to provide insights into performance, creating and updating dashboards autonomously to reflect real-time data.
- Conduct ad hoc data analysis to drive strategic business decisions, using independent discretion to prioritize key areas of focus and provide strategic recommendations.
Data Management and Reconciliation
- Prepare periodic data reconciliation and validation in conjunction with the accounting team to support the month-end close process, making strategic recommendations for process improvements and ensuring data integrity.
- Understand and manage the business-wide impacts of forecasts and data-driven recommendations, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and providing strategic insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support
- Provide finance support for cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Marketing, Operations, and Store Development.
- Partner with technology, accounting, supply chain, and other departments to support changes in processes and reporting, ensure effective implementation and alignment with business objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- At least 3 years of experience in finance or operations in retail and/or food & beverage
- At least 5 years as a high-performing team member with increasing levels of responsibility
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Highly motivated to drive value and help scale Philz for growth
- Has strong learning agility and can quickly learn new processes and information and apply
- Previous experience as a resource to team members, interacting and working with stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Microsoft and Google Suite experience, specifically Excel expertise

**Compensation & Benefits A reasonable estimate of the starting annual base salary for this role is $75,000 to $85,000. Please note that the base salary will vary based on qualifications, previous experience, and work location.
