Dev Technology Group is hiring an experienced Financial Analyst to serve on the leadership team of the company’s largest contract. The successful candidate will have a high degree of financial management acumen, enjoy providing stellar customer service to a complex government client, and demonstrate professional maturity in his/her approach to communications and relationship building. Candidate should also thrive in an environment which requires the flexibility in day-to-day activities required to effectively respond to customer-driven priorities. The position is remote, with occasional travel to Dev Technology headquarters in Reston, VA and the client site in Ashburn, VA.

Clearance: Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Final)

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Partnering with Program leadership, the Contracts and Business Operations team, the Accounting team and others to provide full financial management lifecycle support to a large Time & Materials software development/operations and maintenance contract
  • Maintaining program financial reporting to include budget vs actual variances, forecasts, line-item contract funding statuses and burn rate/estimates at completion (EAC)
  • Developing ad hoc financial analyses such as Rough Order of Magnitude and Level of Effort client proposals
  • Creating, and ensuring the accuracy of, monthly client invoice and supporting artifacts
  • Reviewing contract funding modifications for appropriateness
  • Preparing and distributing Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
  • Supporting development of client and internal management status reporting, including data visualization collateral (charts, graphs)
  • Maintaining tools and templates to reflect contract modifications and annual contract updates (updated bill rates, new option year line items)
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to financial procedures and tools

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of applicable work experience
  • Experience managing financial information via accounting and finance systems, communicating financial results, and contributing to financial and operational decision-making
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including experience with pivot tables, macros, data visualization, web-enabled queries, etc., along with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Experience with identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to professionally communicate with all levels of client, technical and back-office personnel verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building capability – ability to apply logical thinking and diplomacy to resolve complex issues with a mutually beneficial result
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking, organization and attention to detail in order to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to obtain the required government security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to travel to Reston, VA headquarters and Ashburn, VA client site as required

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with the usage of Business Intelligence and Analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau or similar) to facilitate management reporting
  • Familiarity working within the government contracting environment - experience with federal government clients, experience with associated accounting and finance systems such as Unanet, GCS Premier, etc.
  • History of supporting projects or organizations with a focus on software development, following Agile concepts and using tools such as Confluence and JIRA
