Job Summary:

This role combines functions of Financial Planning & Analysis with Risk Control. The analyst will be responsible for supporting the internal risk control function in combination with interpreting financial and operational information before communicating results to a variety of teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing on-going analysis as part of the internal risk control function which supports mark-to-market accounting practices
  • Balancing monthly financial reporting and analysis requirements with ad hoc requests for information on a variety of areas across this agricultural commodities business

Essential Job Functions:

  • Interpret results from multiple systems and reports while coordinating with all internal departments and organizational levels to ensure validation and understanding of results
  • Perform regular price validation processes to support mark-to-market accounting practices
  • Assist in the development and documentation of valuation metrics, models, and reporting around market price controls, financial results, and other operational results as requested of the team
  • Perform analytical review of financial results against the plan/forecast and before reporting the results to management
  • Support the preparation of the annual budget and weekly/monthly forecasts
  • Assist other teams across the organization in preparing and responding to ad hoc requests for information
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, and auditors in a courteous, timely and professional manner

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively work as part of a fast-paced and highly motivated team
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in finance, analysis/accounting, audit, and/or risk analysis in agricultural commodity and/or financial markets preferred
  • Basic understanding of derivative instruments and commodity/financial markets preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL and Tableau preferred

  • Frequent, long periods of sitting in office environment using standard computer equipment
