Financial Analyst
As a Financial Analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and strategic support to the Investor Services line of business. Your responsibilities will include Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) support for the Investor Services consolidated Profit & Loss (P&L), as well as product and segment assignments. Financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting are key responsibilities in this role, working closely with the Investors Services Controllers management team, and at times leading strategic initiatives to ensure deliverables are met. The position will have frequent interaction with the business and its management teams. To be successful in this role, you will need a high proficiency in Excel, excellent modeling / data manipulation skills, and the ability to communicate well with employees at all levels.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analysis presentations for senior management and Steering level committees
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of strategic initiatives
- Participate in the annual budgeting process and provide analysis of actual results to plan
- Develop enhanced reporting and analytics to support current and future needs
- Assist in the implementation and development of client and product level profitability analysis
- Participate in revenue and expense analysis concerning financial issues and trends
- Liaise with the Investor Services pillars to facilitate consolidation of financial results - including forecasts and analysis
- Act as an agent for change by seeking continuous improvement and transparency. Look for ways to streamline processes and enhance visibility into the business (i.e. metrics)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance preferred
- A minimum of 2 years related work experience including writing financial commentary; financial services preferred
- Understanding of financial / accounting principles
- Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to manage large data sets
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database
- Superior client service skills with a strong sense of urgency
- Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills: ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Understanding of product, industry and finance trends and concepts
- Team Player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
