Financial Analyst

Zest AI is hiring a Financial Analyst to help us drive through our next phase of growth. In this newly-created role, the Financial Analyst will support the FP&A team in data analysis, financial/KPI reporting, business decision support, and a wide variety of projects. The Financial Analyst will interact with leadership, including C-level executives, and collaborate with just about every team within Zest as they perform research, solve problems, and identify opportunities for growth and cost savings.

In this role you will:

• Engage in all things involving data and analytics – from data input, maintenance, reporting, to producing analysis, insight, and recommendations
• Use the existing automated data processing code snippets and build upon it
• Become an expert user of tools such as Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and Anaplan
• Identify opportunities to help streamline procedures and improve system efficiencies
• Build budgets and forecasts by partnering with team leaders, incorporating various business strategies, and tracking progress against targets
• Perform ad hoc analysis to facilitate decisions on business expansion, vendor selection, investor reporting, and resource management
• Continuously learn and develop new skills to keep up with business growth

We are looking for:

• 2+ years of experience in accounting and finance related fields. Working knowledge of GAAP, relational database management, complex data analysis, security valuation, and process automation.
• Strong educational background, with at least a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics. Any mathematical/quantitative background is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, GSuite.
• Working knowledge with SQL, plus at least one analytical coding language (eg. Python, R, VBA, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills and experience collaborating with cross functional teams
• Ability to achieve the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast moving, multitasking environment
• Ability to document business updates and strategic plans, and to quantify the financial impact of proposed tactics and new developments
• Intellectually curious, highly self-motivated, can-do, and quick-to-learn personality
• Having completed at least one part of the CFA exam is a plus
