Job Description

Team: Finance

A World-Changing Company

Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.

The Role

The Finance Team supports and empowers Palantirians through both day-to-day operations and creative problem-solving. As a Compensation Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for owning compensation analysis and modeling, collaborating across multiple internal teams, and scaling our compensation program to meet the needs of a growing public company. You will be the champion of the data that drives our largest areas of investment and company-wide initiatives. We’re looking for someone who can help build, break, fix, and scale with us.

Core Responsibilities

  • Model and analyze compensation data sets to surface information critical for the business to make informed decisions
  • Work cross-functionally across the finance team to set business-area budgets for compensation programs
  • Collaborate with a dynamic group, ranging from engineers to executives, focused on executing a rigorous compensation program designed to capture and reward true impact
  • What We Value

  • The ability to operate with a high degree of trust in an environment with sensitive data
  • The ability to meet deadlines while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A high proficiency in Excel and eagerness to work with Palantir’s in-house data tools; while not required, more technical experience with programming, scripting or statistical packages (such as SQL, PySpark, Python, R, Matlab) is a plus
  • We believe you’ll thrive if:

  • You love to dive into details, and you aren’t satisfied with surface-level answers
  • You’re a low-ego team player who believes the outcome matters more than the person who gets the credit
  • You’re a nimble, scrappy self-starter who excels in chaos
  • You’re willing to roll up your sleeves and tackle complex problems in creative and unconventional ways
  • What We Require

  • Two or more years of experience in financial modeling (such as investment banking, equity research, or consulting), and preferably at least two years working in finance in an operational setting (i.e., at a startup or scaling company).
