Financial Analyst, Google Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, accounting or finance or equivalent practical experience
• 4 years relevant financial or analytical experience from an investment banking/financial services, management consulting, or technology company

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA or relevant Master's degree
• Experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data and build reporting dashboards and experience using Python, R, or other similar tools
• Financial planning and modeling experience and familiarity with statistical approaches to analyses
• Ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships and work in a fast-moving and constantly evolving environment
• Excellent analytical skills and business judgment with the ability to communicate effectively with executive management
• Public Sector familiarity or government contracting, Security Clearance

As the Finance Analyst for Google Public Sector finance you will engage in all aspects of running this transformative business. In this role you will be responsible for driving key elements of our financial planning and analytics engine. Additionally, you will lead all work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions.

You are focused on the details while finding creative ways to handle big picture challenges. You will provide financial leadership and analytical support to partners of the core Finance team as well as giving your own team the support they need.

Responsibilities

• Apply business judgment to develop a wide variety of reporting, analytic tools and key performance indicators, and construct an understanding of how Public Sector profit-and-loss is impacted by business and financial drivers, including how those metrics translate to user behavior, business opportunity, and financial outcomes.
• Partner with Business and Finance stakeholders on overall profit-and-loss, business growth management, key department spend, and other projects.
• Work with large data sets to build robust, easy-to-understand financial growth models with multiple scenarios for evaluating agreements and decisions.
• Create relevant dashboards, financial reports, and operational key performance indicators to guide business decisions and inform on performance of programs and deals.
• Create and deliver presentations and analyses.
