RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures revenue is recorded timely and accurately each month under ASC (606) and US GAAP.
• Monitors the overall financial health of assigned projects for the end to end project life cycle, from initial contract through reconciliation. Identify workable solutions.
• Performs project level actual versus budget/forecast variance analysis. Identifies root causes of variances and ensure remaining forecast accuracy based on the most recent information available to the project team.
• Reviews reasonableness of monthly forecasting of financial results (backlog) and challenge project teams to support their forecast as needed.
• Serves as a key contact point for interpretation of financial results with Project Managers for their project portfolio, including reporting to sponsor of project financials and internal financial reporting efforts.
• Provides financial training to project teams as needed to assist them with navigating the company's revenue system and understand what items will be consistently reviewed each month.
• Reviews executed and proposed Contracts, Letter Agreements, Work Orders, Change Orders and other contract information as assigned. Ensures correct budget totals are reflected in the company's revenue system.
• Conducts monthly variance analyses for forecasting misses, out of scope items, overburn, and underburn. Identifies areas where budget shifts may be needed within the company's revenue system.
• Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements (SOX). Assists with financial audit requests as needed.
• Collects, interprets and reports on key financial data; Prepares independent financial analysis as required.
• Supports requests from Management to provide insightful, decision-making analytics.

EDUCATION:

• BA or BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, and/or relevant work experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understands clinical research or project life cycle (preferred)
• Understands ASC 606 revenue recognition methodology
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Able to utilize enterprise based systems, such as PeopleSoft.
• Possesses excellent organization/time management skills; Able to adjust to changes and successfully prioritizes work to meet deadlines.
• Retains complete and accurate budget and project analysis records in compliance with company SOPs and processes.
• Focused on process improvement; strives to identify new ways to improve quality and efficiencies while increasing profitability.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; approaches issues using workable solutions.

EXPERIENCE:

• 0-2 years as project/financial analyst with CRO or Pharmaceutical company, providing financial oversight and variance analysis on international clinical trials.
