Financial Analyst (Investment Analyst)

For the GS-09:
Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public. This experience included:
1. Reviewing economic, financial, investment portfolio data or investment firm operational risk or experience in business and strategy management or consulting; and
2. Assisting with research in the areas of investments, finance, economics, or business strategy; and
3. Assisting with communicating business, financial or investment information clearly.
These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume.
OR
Education: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or have completed 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, (or have completed a LL.B. or J.D, if related) with a major field of study in: finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Applicants must submit a copy of transcripts.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Have an equivalent combination of the specialized experience and graduate level education described above. (To calculate your combined amount, first determine the amount of your specialized experience as a percentage of the requirement listed in A above. Then determine the amount of your graduate education in excess of one full year (18 semester hours) as a percentage of the requirement listed in B above; then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. For the GS-11:
Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following tasks:
1. Assisting with evaluating economic, financial, investment portfolio data or investment firm operational risk or experience in business and strategy management consulting; and
2. Performing research in the areas of investments, finance, economics, or business strategy; and
3. Presenting financial, investment or economic data and analysis to senior executives; and
4. Communicating business, financial or investment information clearly.
These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume.
OR
Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or have completed 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, (or have completed a LL.M., if related) with a major field of study in: finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Applicants must submit a copy of transcripts.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Have an equivalent combination of the specialized experience and graduate level education described above.
