BASIC PURPOSE: Assist in building & maintaining business and department budgets within Anaplan software. The role will administer, maintain, and develop the planning platform, and collaborate with business partners to fully understand the budgeting and forecasting inputs and outputs. Applicants should be comfortable collaborating and taking ownership of open-ended projects, working with cross-functional teams, and communicating the appropriate level of detail to management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with various business line management to develop ongoing budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Design and build Anaplan models and modules to address business planning and forecasting requirements.
  • Manage data integrations and data inputs into the software.
  • Research significant deviations from the budgets.
  • Back-testing models to understand how to improve future models.
  • Conduct trainings for business users and team members as needed.
  • Communicate budget variances monthly with various business line management and department directors.
  • Throughout the course of analysis, identify important financial trends and provide recommendations to management on optimizing current or prospective business activities.
  • Create and maintain financial presentations as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA or CFA a plus
  • Experience:
    • 1+ years of previous accounting, finance, or analysis experience required
    • Previous experience with Anaplan highly valued
    • Previous experience communicating financial results to sr level management a plus

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs.
    • Advanced Excel skills: if statements, index/match, parsing large sets of irregular data, developing financial models with flexible inputs
    • Highly motivated and problem solving oriented
    • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex financial analysis to senior management
    • Ability to maintain a workload while working with a diverse set of other functions. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills; teamwork and time management skills; must be reliable and able to meet deadlines.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
