Financial Assistant (Analyst)

This role will assist in the facilitation of all accounting functions for client groups. S/he must ensure accurate and timely information to the client and relevant personnel and management. The Manager must be well organized with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. S/he must possess strong problem solving, and time management skills, with attention to detail, following through on projects and handling multiple tasks. The Manager must possess managerial skills and well-developed logical skills to navigate through complicated ways of working. S/he must also take initiative, juggle conflicting priorities and function well in a fast paced environment.

Client Servicing

• Support the department by maintaining files, contracts and invoices
• Assemble all supporting documentation
• Running all required month-end reports and files
• Assist with special projects utilizing PowerPoint/ Excel for presentations on financial data
• Understand and learn client’s accounts and needs
• Assist with identifying solutions to financial challenges
• Provide accurate and quality customer service and information for all inquiries

Financial Management and Planning

• Responsible for aspects of accounting including maintenance, control and analysis
• Prepare general ledger and journal entries/monthly reconciliations
• Reconciliation and maintenance of financial statements and accounts
• Ability to research financial issues
• Perform forecasting and other projection reports
• Co-lead preparation of reports and analysis designed to communicate selected financial data to senior management
• Assist with preparation of various audits
• Perform forecasting and other projection reports
• Manage various special projects as requested
• Ensure all financial information is accurate and timely
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
• Prepare journal entries for Corporate financials
• Ensure approval process of all account invoices is followed
• Ability to research financial issues
• Complete personal timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner

People Development

• Assist in recruiting, interviewing and selecting Edelman personnel
• Contribute to performance appraisal process for peers and managers
• Help to mentor, train and guide junior staff
• Providing finance training of the financial system
• Build a working relationship and communication with staff as well as provide the appropriate support
• Engage in team building activities
