Summary
The Financial Controller must be able to work independently and be able to collaborate with all levels of employees, management and external agencies with a hands-on approach; to maximize performance, problem solving and results. Reports to CFO and CEO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- Responsible for processing of billing, vendor and client files
- Provide financial analysis and month-end reporting to management
- Oversee all accounting processes
- Manage accounting team
- Facilitate internal audit reviews
- Identify cost saving projects, including meeting and brainstorming with Department Heads and team members on efficiency and productivity, recommendation of advanced accounting procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
- Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
- Experience in a project driven business environment with physical inventory as a key component to the project
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
- Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes
- Ability to establish relevant focused meaning financial reporting mechanisms to assist business operations
- Cash flow forecasting and cash flow management expertise
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) preferred
- Knowledge of Q360 is a plus
- Proficient with Google Suite
- Notary a plus
