Financial Controller - Mexico

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to oversee VAT compliance and accounts receivable for our operations in Mexico. The ideal candidate with have hands on experience with Mexican reporting requirements. The Financial Controller - Mexico will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with local tax regulations, and efficient management of accounts receivable processes.

Key Responsibilities:

VAT Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT returns.
• Monitor changes in VAT regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
• Conduct regular VAT reconciliations and audits.
• Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors regarding VAT matters.

Accounts Receivable

• Manage one direct report responsible for Accounts Receivable collections and cash application.
• Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, cash posting and reconciliation of customer accounts.
• Monitor and manage outstanding receivables to minimize overdue accounts.
• Ensure compliance with SAT reporting and customer requirements.
• Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports.

General

• Manage and maintain the books and records of Mexico legal entity.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with Mexico tax, accounting, and statutory reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on VAT compliance and accounts receivable.
• Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools.
• Must be highly proficient in written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
• Experience working with a multinational US company.
• Previous experience working with SAP preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Office Environment

• In office our Santa Fe 3 days per week.
