A Gas South Intern is always looking for the ‘why’ behind the data and leveraging their intuition to guide their analyses. As an intern, you would play a critical role in making business decisions, get to work closely with company leadership, and make a direct impact to organizational goals from day one. In addition, all Interns participate in a structured Gas South Intern Program which provides ongoing development training, teambuilding activities and assessments to support your professional growth at Gas South and beyond.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
NOTE: The following are major responsibilities of this position. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.
- Perform credit risk analysis of potential customers
- Review and analyze financial stability and risk factors of all customer classes
- Make credit decisions within assigned authority for credit checks and credit reviews
- Consolidate and analyze historical financial data to produce forecasts
- Support the adherence to credit/risk policies and procedures by all departments
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Rising Junior or Senior, preferably pursuing Business/Management, Math, Finance or Economics Bachelor's Degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong technical and quantitative skills
- Solid knowledge of basic accounting debits and credits, and accounting financial statements
- Understanding of data analysis, model building, and model validation
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau)
- Programming experience or understanding of programming logic (SQL, Python, etc.)
- Internship or prior relevant work experience
- Excellent academic record
