GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Financial Crimes (FC) Data and Infrastructure - Financial Crimes Manager position is a leadership role that is responsible for assisting in the definition and implementation of Fifth Third's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Fraud and Economic Sanctions strategies. The position will oversee the defining, building, and executing technology improvements aimed at improving Fifth Thirds AML, Fraud and Economic Sanctions programs. The position will have an emphasis on managing the technology budget and delivering technology solutions aimed at reducing fraud losses, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Responsible and accountable for core strategic initiatives by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite.

This position is the product owner overseeing the implementation of the bank's real time fraud monitoring engine (Aegis). In this role, the financial crimes manager will set priority and direction for the squad implementing Aegis. This person will work closely with both technology and fraud specialists to help prioritize and set direction for the platform. The candidate should understand the bank's disputes and/or payments processes and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate completion of projects implementing or enhancing technology to support financial crimes as a product owner on a financial crimes squad.

- Sets priorities for the squad, ensuring a balancing timeline, strategic goals, production issue resolution and other items.

- Regular reporting of squad status, accomplishments, and challenges.

- Work with subject matter experts in financial crimes to ensure that all project requirements are accurately captured and delivered.

- Develop roadmaps to support new or enhanced monitoring use cases for the platform and work with partners in various areas to coordinate delivery with other squads.

-Responsible for developing, strengthening, and implementing the Line of Business compliance program in compliance with existing laws and regulations, including governance, policies and procedures, monitoring, reporting, communications, and education.

-Communicates significant issues to senior management.

-Liaisons with regulators as appropriate.

-Builds industry relations through industry networking.

-Maintains a cutting-edge awareness of division goals, regulatory and legislative developments, and industry trends.

-Works with Sr. Leadership to set strategic direction for department and executes on those goals and objectives.

-Participates and/or leads regular meetings with peers to build and maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and risk in the environment

-Reviewing and implementing approved solutions for the Regulatory Monitoring and Change Management program ownership.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overseeing a squad to ensure optimal performance in meeting the Financial Crimes division's goals and the objectives of contributing to the Bancorp continued success in the Financial Services Industry. Assists in the recruiting process; conducts interviews and provides candid, timely feedback. Ensures proper orientation, both formal and informal, for assigned employees. Identifies challenging work assignments and mentoring and education programs to give employees exposure to proactive problem solving throughout the company. Develops and maintains ongoing two-way timely and clear performance feedback to maintain healthy, proactive work relationships. Encourages open dialogue that promotes creative and out of the box problem solving skills.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

-Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

-Computer/Technical: Demonstrates working or functional proficiency sufficient to apply the use of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) without assistance and minimal supervision.

-Able to understand and conceptualize basic statistical analysis and theories. Solid experience manipulating (validating, correcting, reformatting, and transforming) data into multiple formats (e.g. spreadsheets, flat files, databases, etc.)

- Ability to oversee and manage technology budgets and plan for future business needs

-Strong analytical skills required to gather, assess and present quantitative and qualitative data.

-Able to develop and support conclusions and make practical recommendations to the business lines and/or Affiliates. Ability to develop and implement controlled, systematic step-by-step processes based on guidance and procedures

-Ability to work independently and in a team to plan and accomplish a project or elements of a project (complexity of project scope to depend on seniority), identifying responsibilities, tasks, deadlines and pursuing their timely completion.

-Ability to work with a team, to identify and solve problems or resolve issues, including members from other units such as the Legal Department, Audit Department, or Business Unit.

-Advanced understanding of the operations and interdependencies of the Affiliates and Bancorp.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effectively communicates upward, downward and laterally. Displays a positive business presence with both management and external contacts.

-Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment and apply logical and critical thought processes when developing and recommending solutions.

OTHER SKILLS:

- Knowledge of the bank's disputes processes and tools.

- Knowledge of the bank's payments flow process, systems, and teams. Ability to network with those teams to accomplish project goals.

-Familiarity with IBMs Safer Payments product.

-Possesses ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires the management of multiple and competing priorities.

-Demonstrates willingness to be a contributing and engaged member of team by sharing knowledge, working towards common goals and maintaining a positive attitude, capable of establishing effective working relationships with peers and establishes credibility with superiors and customers.

-Establish, foster, and maintain working relationships with peers and supervisory management within the Division, business lines and Information Technology support.
