Financial IT Intern (Junior or Senior)

INTERN POSITION WILL START MAY 2024

Position Summary

The focus of this internship is to provide the student with insight to the utility industry through a variety of financial based tasks. This intern will assist the Technology Services operations team by preparing and reviewing financial reports, monitoring projects to ensure compliance with governance practices and support the project management teams. The intern may also be involved in some special projects.

This position provides support through the annual budget cycle, as well as offers the individual an opportunity to see how concepts from their studies are applied in real world situations.

This is a long-term, paid position for up to 24 hours per week during academic periods and up to 40 hours per week during non-academic periods including summer and school breaks. Hours during academic periods can be flexible based on class schedule.

Minimum Requirements

• Junior or Senior, working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics.
• Minimum GPA of 3.00.
• Completion of courses specifically in accounting required.
• Junior or Senior preferred
• Major or minor in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

• Interest in the Utility Industry
• Ability to stay on part-time during the school year, if offered
• Experience coordinating activities within an organization.
• Previous work experience and/or participation with groups, clubs and organizations helpful.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.40 per hour
