Financial Analyst – North America General Insurance
New York City
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with regular financial reporting deliverables as well as business support. The individual will also support initiatives to improve financial processes and procedures, as well as participate in special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance business partner on all financial analysis and reporting, including month close production activities / KPI reporting, quarter close activities and forecasting
- Support the Finance business partner in the development of analytics and management information, which enables the business to track strategic initiatives.
- Support the Finance business partner in preparing quarterly financial reporting deliverables, to outline the performance of the business compared to relevant periods and projections.
- Support the annual and quarterly Strategic Planning process by helping to gather input from the business teams and compiling the projected results to be shared with the Business
- Support in any finance transformation or process improvement initiatives
- Participate in other special projects and/or coordination efforts.
- Leveraging SQL and/or Python to assist in database management and forecasting tools.

The candidate will possess superb communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be proactive and demonstrate a willingness to challenge current processes and provide suggested efficiencies across the finance workstreams and deliverables. The candidate will also have some foundational knowledge in programming languages such as SQL to aid with query building and database management.
This individual must have finance and accounting experience and be a forward thinking and progressive contributor. He/she will have the capability to collaborate with the business teams as well as across various functional disciplines.
Job Requirements: (subject to change)
- At least 3 years of accounting or finance experience
- BA degree or equivalent;
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask to meet competing deadlines
- Financial statement analysis experience
- Experience in forecasting and modelling and knowledge of business performance metrics

- Experience working with diverse cultures across US regions
- Ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders
- Insurance or financial services experience preferred
- Programming language (SQL, Python etc) preferred
