Financial Planning and Analysis Intern

Fearless is looking for an Financial Planning and Analysis Intern to add to our diverse team of 250+ employees (and counting!).

Fearless’ internship program provides college students and recent graduates with real-world experience in and knowledge of the government tech industry. This 10-week program is a full-time, paid, hybrid internship that will give you not just technical skills, but a broad variety of professional skills, such as interviewing, creating resumes, and networking for job readiness. 

The Financial Planning and Analysis Intern will support Fearless’ Finance Team. The Financial Planning and Analysis Intern will do this by supporting large data management sets, research, financial statements, and other tasks that support departmental goals. Responsibilities and Contributions:

• Works under the guidance of Fearless’ Finance team to support department success. 
• Responsible for transforming financial data from internal systems (Salesforce, Paylocity, Hubspot, Unanet) into information using Power BI.
• Analyzes, forecasts, and develops reports of financial and non-financial trends.
• Supports data entry, analysis, and reconciliation of Finance information.
• Develops visual reports, key performance indicator (KPI) scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI.
• Learns the process for building our budgets and how to report against them.
• Consolidates financial statements into one financial balance sheet.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

Must-Have Skills:

• Has taken classes or majored in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Google Sheets and Excel.
• Experience managing large data sets.
• Ability to create financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.

Icing-on-the-Cake Skills 

• Experience using various tools used by Fearless, including Slack, G Suite, and Zoom.
• Experience with PowerBI.
• Experience using and manipulating general ledger data.
• Familiarity with various forecasting methodologies (time series, straight line regression, etc).

Compensation:

• Hourly rate is $18/Hr.

• Technical Interview - This is where we get into the nitty gritty of the project. During the Technical Interview, you’ll be interviewed by our Functional Leads and/or the team’s Project Lead to make sure your skills align with the project requirements.
