Job Description

The Financial Reporting Manager serves as an essential member of the Financial Reporting team that is primarily responsible for the preparation and review of external and internal reporting. The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for preparing and review of financial reporting to management, joint venture partners, creditors and other users/readers. The position also is also responsible for financial analysis, translating data into useful reports and analysis supporting the management team in making informed decisions.

  • Lead and manage the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze current and historical financial results, perform variance analysis of key metrics, identify trends and recommend actions
  • Support senior management team and department leaders with in-depth analysis
  • Provide oversight of various financial analysis and develop financial models to support strategic initiatives
  • Develop and track key performance metrics against the company’s strategic objectives
  • Perform peer benchmarking and industry analysis, and present findings to management
  • Be an integral part of various efforts to improve the efficiency surrounding financial reporting by developing automated processes and applications
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
  • Participate and lead special projects and perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Real estate and multi-family rental experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of key real estate investment metrics and operational reporting
  • Ability to independently problem-solve, research and summarize, as well as manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet critical deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to create financial models
  • Focus efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’s standards
  • Demonstrate and support the organization's ethics and values
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Requires an ‘Executive Presence’, process improvement and statistical analysis skills.
  • Desire to utilize analytical skills in order to use the data to tell a story
  • Ability to effectively organize prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking ability
  • Proven team player with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields
  • CPA and/or CFA preferred
  • Big 4 CPA Firm Audit experience preferred
  • 5+ years related experience in accounting and data analytical combined with related work experience in business intelligence, analytics, and reporting, as well as thorough knowledge of GAAP principles

Salary Range

Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.

$117,950.00 - $196,580.00
