Job Description

At Nox Health, we're looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist will play an integral and highly visible role within the finance team, with a primary focus on consolidation and group-level financial oversight. This critical role involves leading the consolidation process, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and overseeing compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Financial Reporting Specialist will play a key role in providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making.

As a member of the finance team, the Financial reporting specialist will be the primary architect of the consolidation process, leading the effort to timely gather the financial data from various subsidiaries and business units. The Financial Reporting specialist will be responsible to ensure that the consolidated financial statements conform to the highest standards, aligning seamlessly with accounting principles such as GAAP. This involves great attention to detail and the capability to identify and rectify any discrepancies or variances within the financial data.

Additionally, the Financial Reporting Specialist will play a vital part in financial analysis and interpretation. Deep dive into the numbers, identifying trends, variances, and key performance indicators that provide essential insights to our management team.

Expected Results

Accurate Consolidated Financial Statements: Consistently produce error-free and accurate consolidated financial statements that reflect the financial performance of the organization as a whole.

Timely Reporting: Meet all reporting deadlines, ensuring that financial data is available when required for decision-making, regulatory filings, and other obligations.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all financial reporting activities comply with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, with no major compliance issues or reporting errors.

Data Integrity and Accuracy: Implement and maintain controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, resulting in minimal errors or discrepancies in financial reporting.

Effective Communication: Provide clear and insightful communication of financial results, analysis, and recommendations to management and stakeholders, aiding informed decision-making.

Financial Analysis and Insights: Generate meaningful insights from financial data analysis, enabling management to understand financial trends, variances, and KPIs and make strategic decisions based on this information.

Audit Success: Facilitate successful external audits with minimal findings or issues by preparing thorough documentation and maintaining audit readiness throughout the year.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements that streamline financial reporting procedures, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with various departments and teams to ensure accurate financial data input and gather relevant information for reporting purposes.

Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Contribute to the preparation of accurate financial budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, enabling effective financial planning.

Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on emerging financial reporting trends and best practices and share knowledge within the finance team to enhance collective expertise.

Reporting

The Financial Reporting Specialist will report to the VP, Finance and Accounting, and will work closely with the corporate FP&A team, business unit controllers and other executives.

Responsibilities

Consolidation and Reporting:

  • Lead the consolidation process for financial statements on a group level.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Review and analyze subsidiary financial reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies and variances in financial data.

Financial Oversight:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Collaborate with various departments to oversee the accuracy of financial data input.
  • Implement and maintain controls to safeguard financial data integrity.
  • Lead monthly balance sheet deep dive exercise to ensure accurate and complete representation of financial position on the Company's consolidated balance sheet.

Financial Analysis:

  • Perform financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Analyze trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Assist in the preparation of materials and documentation for external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial reporting regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and enhance financial reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to reporting tools and systems.
  • Provide technical US GAAP accounting guidance and perform technical accounting research as necessary.

Communication:

  • Communicate financial results and findings effectively to management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise and support.

Requirements

Qualifications & skillset

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA or similar certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of finance experience with 4+ years of progressive experience in a corporate accounting role.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and consolidation, preferably in a group or multinational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Intacct, Navision, Planful, Google Sheets/Docs, etc.).
  • High degree of proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products with ability to retrieve data, manipulate such data and create useful analytical information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team and effectively communicate complex financial information.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
