YOUR ROLE
The Model Risk Team manages model risk the USLI division, Investment function and corporate segment. As a Financial Risk Analyst, you will work as part of this team to support model validation work, lead focused/ targeted analysis related to model validation work, support governance work and support a comprehensive assessment of model risk across models and processes that rely on models. You will partner with 1st, 2nd and 3rd line resources to collaborate on work, develop insights, assess model risk and recommend actions to mitigate risk.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Lead focused areas of end-to-end model validations including input data, model output, transfers/ handoffs between models and business processes
- Support the Annual Model Risk Management Framework update and simplification
- Support model validations for finance, investment or other non-actuarial models
- Cultivate relationships and channels of communication across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines teams to build risk culture, promote model risk management, share in best practices and provide independent perspective on initiatives and issues related to modeling
- Contribute to development of the model risk management program through independent learning, on job experience and collaboration with the team, model owners and other lines
- Assist with model governance work and/ or other model risk projects as needed
- May support actuarial model validations for a defined scope of the model validation
MUST HAVE / WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in a Risk, Finance or Audit role - Finance strongly preferred
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage workload and consistently achieve delivery timelines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to challenge and influence in a collaborative way
NICE TO HAVE
- Basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Familiarity with Actuarial processes and practices
- Governance and controls background
- Model Risk Management or Enterprise Risk Management experience
