Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a FINANCIAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN (TITLE 5), Position Description Number NGT5132000 and is part of the TN ARMY Army National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter).

- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- This is a Financial Management certified position. Incumbent is required to comply with all requirements of this certification program. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Knowledge of and skills in the interrelationships of the various financial, personnel and computer file systems, methods, techniques, precedent cases and procedures to resolve especially difficult and/or sensitive problems. Experience in researching, interpreting, analyzing, and applying regulations, policies, procedures and legal decisions and issuances regarding the full range of financial and commercial services provided, including public law; fiscal law; DoD, DA, FORSCOM, NGB and DFAS regulations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: None
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience. To qualify for GS-0503 technician position based on completed undergraduate or graduate education, the college degree education must be in one of -or- be a combination of the following required disciplines: Accounting, business, finance, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management. Technician applicants, who completed the Army or the Air Force Financial Technical School course and were awarded the applicable and compatible military skills, are considered minimally qualified for the GS-0503-08 entry-level position.
You must provide OFFICIAL transcripts or other documentation to support your educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

MILITARY MEMBERS WITH BONUSES: Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to termination or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 179 days in any continuous 12-month period).
