This is a position that uses state-of-the-art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods and experimental systems to study sound wave propagation in solids and fluid, and its interaction with complex microelectronic structures. As a Yield Research and Development Intern you will be responsible to develop CAD models of geometries based on the mechanical aspects of microchip designs and run simulations to improve existing non-destructive testing capabilities; you will also collaborate with Sr. Engineers to design and execute laboratory experiments to validate the simulation results.
In this internship, you will have the opportunity to:
- Influence new non-destructive testing methods based on fundamental technical knowledge.
- Bring innovation in next generation analytical tools for microchips testing by using novel modeling techniques.
- Validate numerical findings with experimental data.
- Deliver analytical results that will impact the quality and reliability of new microchip technology.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, engineering science, physics, or related field.
- 1 year of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Modeling using Abacus or similar FEA tool.
- 1 year of experience with coding (e.g. Matlab, Phyton, C++, etc).
- 6 months of experience performing experiments in laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 months of experience with FEA simulations of ultrasound wave propagation and scattering in solids and fluids.
- 6 months experience with CAD software SolidWorks' or similar.
- 6 months of experience with Matlab coding.
