First Article Buyer (HYBRID)

• Manage day-to-day First Article Inspection (FAI) material orders for a wide range of materials assembled into Brooks’ products. 

• Issue purchase orders to targeted Suppliers and manage open purchase orders to delivery 

• Track/Modify/Expedite FAI material PO’s to meet Brooks manufacturing build schedules. 

• Daily follow up on quotes and purchase orders for FAI materials. Track & Report day-to-day FAI materials arrivals. 

• Follow through with Suppliers to identify all delivery date changes while working through appropriate channels to get FAI materials delivered to Brooks on time. 

• Communicate supplier performance, particularly FAI Materials On Time Delivery and Quality issue/resolution 

• Upload new prices into Oracle Cloud following FAI approval where applicable  

• Create and manage requests for quotes that include technical documents, pricing, delivery commits and key milestones to ensure on-time receipt of quotations from Suppliers 

• Coordinate the movement of FAI materials with Quality Inspection to quickly identify and address any FAI material quality issues found during first article inspection of the part(s).  

• Assist with the set up and management of Suppliers in our Approved Supplier Listing (ASL) 

• Assist with Supplier surveys that encompass capacity readiness and other communications with Suppliers to assure continuity of supply 

• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Purchaser with FAI process background 

• Semiconductor and/or Manufacturing industry experience will be preferred 

• Well-versed with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel 

• Familiar working within an ERP, preferably Oracle Cloud & with Agile  

• Able to interface with large global Suppliers located in the US and in other countries & time zones 

• Demonstrated experience in engaging directly with Suppliers to assure highest quality materials, competitive pricing, on time deliveries 

• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English
