Summary
This position is located in the Washington Implementation (EWU) organization of the Fish & Wildlife Program (EW), Environment, Fish & Wildlife (E), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
A successful candidate in the Fish and Wildlife Administrator position will provide fish and wildlife biological expertise to support project and contract management for other Project Managers, Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), and management.

- This position does not support remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 3 days per pay period
- Selectee will be required to complete the Office of Government Ethics Standard of Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OFGE450e) within 30 days of employment and annually.
- This position requires a valid driver's license as a condition of employment.
- A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work. Current Federal employees or other individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check.
- May be required to serve as Contracting Officers Representative for BPA grants and agreements; this duty includes additional training and certification.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. -OR-
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, plus appropriate experience or additional education. -OR-
C. Experience: Four years of experience that demonstrated that the applicant acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study as described above.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
GS-11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position is defined as: 1) evaluating scientific fish information, AND 2) assisting with the oversight of implementation for fish culture projects (e.g., hatchery construction; hatchery operations and maintenance; and research, monitoring, and evaluation) to mitigate for fish losses.
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
- Three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, or Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree; your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. -OR-
- Combination of education and experience as described above. Less than one year of specialized experience may be combined with graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level (i.e., credit hours beyond the first two years of full-time study may be credited).
GS-12: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position is defined as: 1) evaluating scientific fish information, AND 2) independently overseeing the implementation of fish culture projects (e.g., hatchery construction; hatchery operations and maintenance; hatchery research, monitoring, and evaluation) to mitigate for fish losses.
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 grade level.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
