Summary

This position is located at the Stuttgart, Germany.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
  • Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
  • May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends.
  • Must obtain/maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain (within six months of employment) a fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Childcare Tier 1 Background investigation.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or higher in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, physical education, or other fitness-related disciplines

OR all of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level:

1. Experience in the application of fitness principles, concepts, and techniques gained through the delivery of a
comprehensive group fitness program.
2. Experience or education demonstrating the knowledge of basic health and nutrition concepts.
3. Experience training coaches or other professionals (i.e., teachers, caregivers, fitness instructors) in the proper application of sports or fitness techniques.

In addition to the above, highly qualified candidates will possess the following:

Experience in the planning, evaluation, or delivery of a fitness program or curriculum specifically for children or youth;
OR
at least 12 semester hours in college coursework directly related to children or youth (i.e., PE for children, motor skills development, childhood development, early/elementary/secondary education, health/nutrition for children, child/adolescent psychology, etc.).

This experience must be clearly defined on your resume to be considered for highly preferred status. Those meeting both Highly Preferred criteria along with the minimum qualifications will be referred before those meeting only the minimum criteria.

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.

Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
