Job Description

Fleet Manager 

Dandelion Energy is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the management of all company vehicles (currently more than 150+ assets), heavy equipment, and related assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet is operating safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, while meeting the needs of our geothermal projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement fleet management policies, procedures, and strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of company-owned vehicles, heavy equipment, and related assets. Together with the Finance department, help the company decide between buying or leasing construction vehicles for better financial efficiency. 
  • Manage and track fleet inventory, including asset utilization, maintenance schedules, and replacement planning
  • Develop Maintenance programs with internal mechanics and outside Vendors 
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to fleet operations and safety (IFTA, DOT, HUT,etc.) 
  • Collaborate with other departments and project managers to ensure fleet resources are allocated appropriately to meet project needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable fleet services
  • Analyze fleet data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to senior management
  • Foster a culture of safety and responsibility within the fleet management team and across the company

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in fleet management, with a track record of success in managing large fleets of vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Strong knowledge of fleet management practices, regulations, and technologies. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and achieving shared goals

Location:

  • Hybrid remote and on-site (Commutable to NY/CT/MA)
  • Must be accessible to working on-site in our Mt Kisco, NY headquarters at least 4-5 times per month
  • Must be willing to go to travel project sites to better understand the business as needed
