Job Description
Summary
This position is located in the Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet & Family Readiness Programs, Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Food & Beverage Division. The incumbent functions as the Food and Beverage Manager for the assigned Food & Beverage facility or facilities.

Conditions of Employment
- Must pass all applicable records and background check.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- Must possess and maintain a current state driver's license. as travel is required.
- Must possess and maintain a health card.
- Must be certified in CARE training (or obtain within 90 days of employment) and maintain annual sanitation and all other required training.
- Must successfully complete an Access National Agency Check (ANACI) SF86 and be eligible for secret Level clearance upon selection and periodically thereafter.
- Irregular tours of duty (nights. weekends, and holidays) are required.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate must possess:
A minimum five years in the food service industry, in positions of increasing responsibility.
A minimum of three years in a documented supervisory or leader position.
Education/training in the food service industry may be substituted for some of the experience requirements.
Knowledge of military MWR and/or NAF policies and procedures preferred.
Must demonstrate ability to deal effectively with subordinates, supervisory and management officials and patrons.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Basic understanding of budgeting and activity level financial management.
Ability to operate a personal computer and perform basic work processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and catering specific software.
Education
This position does not have a positive education requirement.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
