Job Description

Forbes is looking to hire college students or recent college grads with accounting experience, or accountants interested in changing careers. Ideal candidates will have knowledge and understanding of financial statements and business valuations. They will apply their accounting backgrounds to investigate and cover the world’s wealthiest as an integral part of the team that produces one of our most popular issues, Forbes World's Billionaires. The internship will begin in mid-November 2022 and last until March 31, 2023 – though dates are flexible. These are paid positions with opportunities to write for Forbes.com.
Responsibilities include:
- Valuing private companies, digging through financial filings and annual reports, conducting phone interviews with companies and company owners and reaching out to third-party sources.
- Helping craft and fine-tune models to estimate net worths based on various assumptions.
- Analyzing historic data on the investment returns, spending habits and expenses of high net worth individuals.
Requirements
- Prior experience in finance and/or accounting.
- Interest in delving into financial documents.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with financial figures and terms.
- Organized and able to communicate clearly.
- Passionate and curious.
- While not required, fluency or proficiency in another language is a plus.
