Forecasting Intern

Summary

The Forecasting Intern position will work in a part time, temporary capacity. The Intern will be responsible for a wide array of tasks needed to support the ongoing development of data assets, time series models and other analytics solutions necessary to support the objectives of the team. As a member of Financial Analytics, you will get hands-on experience in developing analytics solutions/models and seeing how your work directly impacts the business. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop technical skills in at least one of the key software utilized by the team, have demonstrated ability to work autonomously and deliver on time results.

• Working on a high functioning analytics team
• Learn key financial indicators critical to running a business
• Impact development of our analytics solutions and how we deliver on enterprise intelligence &/or predictive analytics objectives
• Predictive Modeling (Python - time series)
• Data Visualization (Tableau, Domo)
• Data preparation, ETL, automation (Sql, Alteryx)
• Communicating to technical and business audiences

  • Predictive Analytics
  • Enterprise Intelligence
• Collaborate closely with team members in:
  • Sales
  • Account Managers
  • Finance & Strategic Pricing
  • Operations
  • Other analytics teams such as Product

What skills will you learn or improve?

• Using our key tech stack: SQL, Python, Tableau, and potentially cloud computing etc
• Data Science methodologies, specifically in time series forecasting such as ARIMA, ETS, Prophet etc
• Effective Communications and Presentation

About You:

The ideal candidate will be data curious, love to dig into details and willing to learn different parts of a company wide data organization.

• Graduate programs in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Experience in time series forecasting using Python
• Critical thinking and outstanding problem-solver
• Passion for data analysis and data visualization
• Strong technical skills with willingness to develop business acumen: Python, SQL etc
• Team player who will support colleagues across the team
• Demonstrated experience working autonomously and/or remotely
