Foreman/Journeyman Electrician

For the Solar/AC Electrical Site Foreman/Journeyman, travel is a must - they will be on the road and expected to travel throughout Southern California.This is not your average 9 am – 5 pm position. Our Solar Electrical Foreman/Journeyman needs to have the flexibility to travel to different job sites throughout Southern California on a week-to-week basis. Provided a company vehicle and per diem for sites requiring so, this candidate will be responsible for the construction, installation & modification of electrical devices, systems, equipment, and related controls of varying design and/or complexity. Focusing on the AC side of electrical installation on various commercial solar locations to include Rooftop, carport, and ground mount systems between 800 kilowatts to 1 megawatt project sites. Our Solar Foreman/journeyman contributes to the team by: • Troubleshooting and diagnosing faulty systems, devices, and connections using hand/power tools and equipment. • Proficiency in electrical competencies to understand & identify faults in AC/DC electrical systems and the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve them. • Analyzing AC electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the necessity for modification or maintenance to ensure code compliance. • Verify reliability, and safety of electrical systems by testing circuits, panels, and wiring to ensure the integrity and functionality of the entire system. • Providing continuous feedback to management regarding any potential hazards associated with the ongoing operation of equipment. • Performing on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs to install, maintain or repair any electrical wiring, equipment and/or fixtures. • Completing physically demanding tasks such as (but not limited to)bending, crouching, pulling, lifting, etc. • Understanding blueprints/schematics, specifications, safety documentation and necessary protocols for each job site and location. • Demonstrating efficient problem-solving skills while Identifying and mitigating safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issues Requirements: • Must possess a Blue card, CA general electrician, or journeyman certification in electrical • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial, industrial, or solar electrician journeyman with a firm understanding of electrical equipment, high and low voltages, electrical theory, power generation, switchgear maintenance, and paralleling procedures. • Must possess a strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures. • Ability to establish priorities and work independently to achieve objectives without supervision while coordinating tasks with others through personal initiative. • OSHA 30/10 certification is a plus! • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and clean background.
