Forklift Associate (Friday to Sunday 6am - 4:30pm)

Who You Are

We are looking for a motivated Forklift Associate to join our brand new state-of-the-art freeze drying facility in Allentown PA! In this role you will be directly responsible for safe operation of a sit-down forklift to unload ship inventory and warehouse materials and/or finish products. This role requires strong attention to detail communication analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to receive move load and correctly store all inbound materials and outbound finished products
• Perform inspections of forklifts and other lift equipment and report any deficiencies 
• Report and following up on any observation that may impact associate safety and/or product Quality and Food Safety
• Perform and record all required quality checks in accordance with quality and food safety standards
• Maintain required GMPs and sanitation levels
• Perform accurate inventory transactions into warehousing systems and maintain FIFO principles for all materials and  finished products
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

Must Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months work experience in warehousing operation using forklifts
• Ability to read write and communicate effectively 
• Able to operate a computer or tablet and utilize the basic standard desktop systems

Nice to Have

• 2+ years of experience operating forklift or other powered industrial equipment
• Experience using ERP/WMS tools (SAP Oracle)
• Experience in food manufacturing environment 
• Working knowledge of HACCP and GMPs 
• OSHA approved Forklift Certification

Physical Requirements

• Physical Demands: lifting and lowering up to 50 pounds reaching standing walking stooping crawling twisting repetitive motions working in high elevations (above 6 feet)
• Ability to work with allergens and chemicals that might be present in food environment 
• Ability to work in hot (60℉ to 100℉) cold (-20℉ to 60℉) noisy dusty and wet environmental working conditions
• Able to wear safety PPE (hard hat body harness face shield steel-toed boots)
• Able to adhere to GMP requirements (hair/beard nets uniforms hygiene)
