Formula Room Tech

Responsible for performing duties with the daily operating procedures of the formula room, which includes processing enteral formula orders for patients (neonatal through adolescent to adult), developing recipes according to physicians' orders, preparing, delivering, and stocking enteral formula in patient care areas to meet the needs of each unit. The technician's responsibilities include the ordering, receiving and stocking of all formula-related items, ensuring that products are compliant with all current codes and are acceptable for use. Requisitions and inspects formula, supplies, and materials in order to maintain inventory levels and to ensure that standards of quality are met. This role assists the Formula Room Supervisor in operating the formula room in a manner that contributes to the achievement of organization goals and objectives, customer service, and quality improvement activities. Responsible for the acquisition, receiving, and maintenance of formula room stock.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified Dietetic Technician program, or at least enrolled in certified Dietetic Technician program, OR Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in nutrition.
• Registered as Dietetic Technician through the American Dietetic Association preferred.
• Demonstrated competence in mathematical skills.
• Demonstrated competence in a health care setting for two years preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow directions, work under pressure, readily adapt to change in routine and work assignments, and relate to caregivers, families, and inter- and intra-departmental staff.
• Experience working with computers is preferred.

Must have City of Ft. Worth Food Handler's Card is Required
