Founding Design Engineer

Exa is building web search for AI unlike any that have ever existed. Want to build the next-gen of search?

What you will do

• Think up the right interface(s) for finding information in a new world of automated intelligence. Then implement it.
• Design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business potential
• Help lead the product roadmap

Example Projects

• Create a Exa Chat frontend where you chat with Exa results
• Invent new ways to combine LLMs with Exa search
• Create an interactive playground for developers to onboard to Exa's API

About you

• Strong design skills (UI design, interaction design, graphic design fundamentals)
• Strong programming skills, experience with application development, and excellent troubleshooting skills
• Deep knowledge of React, NextJS, NodeJS, CSS, or equivalent frontend tech
• Obsessed with user experience (polish, readability, accessibility, performance)
• You thrive in high velocity, high growth, scrappy startup environment
