As the FP&A Analyst, you’ll be assisting the FP&A Director by creating ad-hoc reports and analyzing financial data in support of the agency. You will influence decision making for senior leadership by reporting on key business drivers, trends, and performance indicators. This role is perfect for someone with a finance or accounting background who is curious by nature and enjoys problem-solving. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating without step-by-step instructions and will take initiative to help the FP&A Director identify areas of improvement for the agency.

The Work 

• Assist the FP&A Director with weekly, biweekly, and monthly reporting
• Investigate, analyze, and interpret time reporting data, tracking against projections
• Perform financial modeling, ad-hoc analysis, and forecasting to support key business decisions
• Collaborate with FP&A Director to enhance and maintain G&A reporting with the goal of understanding and managing revenue and spend at the lowest level of detail
• Interact with corporate and field-level accounting, finance, and production staff to gather and compile data needed to conduct analysis or address management requests
• Use various sources of internal data and information to analyze company performance
• Assist in the preparation of the annual operating plans in line with the strategic direction of the company
• Create and maintain reporting dashboards that are actionable for senior leadership
• Develop scalable and efficient financial processes that support the business
• Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization
• Complete special projects as assigned

Requirements

• At least 1+ years of experience in finance or accounting
• BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics); MBA preferred but not required
• Expert in Microsoft Excel
• Exposure to detailed analytics and forecasting, along with a collaborative approach to decision making
• Experience working in a business with international reach and growth agenda, ideally with a creative production element
• Ability to work well under pressure, accurately, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Proactive, professional demeanor with strong communication skills and can-do attitude
• Ability to think creatively and work cross-functionally with other departments
• Excellent organization skills and able to adapt and be flexible as needed
• A fun team player with a positive attitude that contributes to MAL’s culture
