How You Will Make an ImpactAs the FP&A Analyst, you will be a key player in supporting strategic decision making by upper management. Reporting to the Strategic Planning Associate, the FP&A Analyst will be primarily responsible for providing assistance in the budgeting process, budget to actual / variance analysis, cost / capex reviews, investigations and analysis, assisting in the evaluation of financial trends, producing ad-hoc analysis of various strategic initiatives, and be a champion at leveraging technology to further streamline financial analysis capabilities.
This role will be based onsite at our Headquarters in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:- Provide assistance in annual budgeting process
- Own monthly and quarterly cadence for reviews and lookback analysis
- Conduct additional periodic reviews and lookback analysis as needed
- Perform variance analysis that provides insight into performance relative to Company targets
- Regularly perform deep analysis of specific operating expense categories to assist in the development of recommendations to management in order to deliver upon financial objectives
- Produce reports for consumption of upper management that distill the results of financial analysis to shed light on actionable opportunities to drive improvements
- Create ad-hoc financial analysis of strategic opportunities as they are presented
- Provide assistance and help champion technology implementations that streamline analysis capabilities
- Bachelor of Business in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a similar field
- 2-5 minimum years of relevant work experience
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and financial modeling / forecasting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- Prior experience in Corporate FP&A, accounting or similar fields
- Prior experience within or working with clients engaged in the oil & gas, oilfield services, midstream and / or sand mining industries
- Prior experience with FP&A software packages and technology implementations
