FP&A & Data Analyst
Job Description
Position Summary:
This position is based out of South Portland, ME- must be willing to work out of the office minimum of 3 days a week.

Reporting to the Director of FP&A, the FP&A & Data Analyst position is a key part of the FP&A team, which coordinates the company's financial planning processes, including forecasts, budgets, financial reporting and long-range financial plans.This position supports the analysis, reporting, and financial management efforts with accurate, clear, and timely reporting and analysis. The position requires an individual who is exceptional at managing accuracy within a large database of financial information.
Essential Functions:
- Provide business analytics of both financial and non-financial measures, including analysis of key performance indicators, revenue and margin, expense, business trends, and operational and customer metrics.
- Analyze data and financial systems processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and communicating recommendations to management.
- Developing and maintaining financial reporting tools for Finance, Operations, and Leadership teams.
- Support Monthly Reporting/Analytic functions across both Finance and Operations.
- Prepare management reporting and presentation materials to be delivered to Senior Executive Team and Board of Directors.
- Develop supporting documentation such as data dictionaries and end user guides to support Operations.
- Central role in the annual budget process and re-forecast process.
- Drive change management efforts as new and/or improved reporting is rolled out across the organization.
Education:
Bachelors' Degree in an analytical field, preferably in Finance, Economics or Data Sciences.
Experience:
1-5 years of experience in data analysis or finance related field (Note: Internships and Co-ops will be considered relevant experience).
Other Attributes or Experience Required:
- Accounting experience or knowledge of accounting systems.
- Experience with financial statement analysis, cash flow, financial metrics and general ledger is desired.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with budgeting software and general ledger accounting systems.
- Exposure to SQL, R, Python, and/or BI360 is preferred; experience is a plus.
- Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as PowerBI.
- Appreciation of deadlines with a strong sense of urgency.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with an aptitude for working with incomplete information.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, maturity of judgement and comfort with on-demand problem solving and/or to seek support when required.
Certification:
This position does not require any formal certifications. Certifications such as CMA or PMP would be advantageous.
